FlowBoard is an experimental personal productivity service provided free of charge on an βas isβ and βas availableβ basis with no warranties of any kind whether express or implied including fitness for a particular purpose and non interruption of service.
You use FlowBoard at your own risk. The operator shall not be liable for any loss of data corruption of data service outage or other damage arising from your use of the service. You are solely responsible for exporting and keeping your own backups.
The operator may collect anonymous usage metrics such as login counts save counts and how often certain features are opened. These metrics exist only to understand which features are useful. Task titles notes descriptions attachments and other board content are not collected for analytics and are not reviewed for that purpose.
By selecting I agree you confirm that you understand and accept these Terms of Use.
Approve after email verify, or use Verify & approve if their link failed. Counts only (logins / saves / features). Never task contents. Revoke / Restore / Delete as needed.
Card color shifts from green β red as the deadline approaches.
Ranked by impact Γ· effort. Impact is your score, a duel result or the AI's view, nudged up when a deadline is close. Effort is your score, else the estimate, else the actual time of similar finished tasks. The top 20% get a π― on the board.
Members are people you can assign tasks to. Add an email (or invite with one) so they get a notification when assigned. Accepting an invite while logged in also links their account.
Anonymous feature counts for this account. No task titles or notes are stored.
Use a new password (8+ characters). You stay logged in after saving.
Everything is unlimited: boards, tasks, columns, swimlanes, subtasks, labels, attachments. There are no artificial caps. The only bound is your browser's storage (tens of thousands of tasks is fine). Data lives in this browser, auto-saved, with an automatic backup that self-restores if storage ever fills up. Very full columns draw the first 200 cards with a "Show all" button so the board stays fast. Use β― β Export backup regularly, and Import to restore or move machines.
Boards: switch with the dropdown next to the logo. Create, rename or delete boards from β―.
Board layout: drag cards between cells. Column menu (β) sets WIP limits and marks a column as "Done". Done columns group completed tasks by the day they were finished (Today, Yesterday, and dated headers). Collapse a day with βΎ. Swimlanes are horizontal rows (β― β Add swimlane). Use β― β Edit / rearrange columns to drag column headers. Filters live under Filter. Pareto π― stays in the header. Analytics and the rest are under β―.
Search: filters the board to matching cards and highlights the matched text in green on each card title.
On a phone: swipe sideways anywhere on the board (including on a task) to snap between columns, and scroll up/down inside a column. To move a task: press and hold it until it lifts, then drag it onto another column (the board pans near the edges). Tap a task to open it. Tap β Add task / Save to keep changes. Tip: use "Add to Home Screen" to launch it like an app.
Real-time on laptop + phone (hotspot / same Wi-Fi): run start-flowboard.bat (needs the free Node.js) on the laptop. It prints two addresses. Open the localhost one on the laptop and the http://β¦:8765 one on the phone. Everything opened through those addresses shares one live board, and changes appear on the other device within a couple of seconds (π’ Live sync shows in the header). Board data then lives in flowboard-data.json next to the server, so it's easy to back up.
Board key π: live-sync boards are protected by a key. Use the full address including #key=β¦ (the server prints it, and it's also saved in flowboard-key.txt). Without the key, the board can't be read or changed.
Online from anywhere (free): the flowboard-online folder deploys the board to Cloudflare's free plan so devices sync over the internet, protected by your key, with HTTPS. See README.md in that folder. It takes about 5 minutes, no credit card.
Attachments: open a task and click π, or paste an image straight into the dialog. The first image shows on the card. Attachments are stored in this browser only. They're not included in JSON backups or the shared sync file.
Timer workflow: hover a card β βΆ (or open the task β Start pomodoro) to start a 25-minute block on that task. Time is logged continuously to the task. You do not need to mark it Done for tracking. Finished early? βΆ on another card swaps focus and banks the minutes already spent. Or drag the finished card to Done (time is saved and the pomodoro keeps running so you can attach the next task). βΉ ends the session. Analytics "Time tracked" and each task's β± badge use this log. Pareto shows it beside impact/effort and lets you βΆ start from there.
Recurring: set Repeat on a task. When you move it to a Done column, a fresh copy reappears in the first column with the due date advanced.
Collaboration: the easiest way is invite links (see below). There is also file-based sync. Put a sync file in a shared folder (Dropbox / Google Drive / OneDrive) via β― β Create shared sync fileβ¦ and have friends use Join existing sync fileβ¦ to pick the same file. It is last-save-wins (not simultaneous live editing) and it needs Chrome or Edge. All boards are shared in that mode.
Deadlines in your calendar π: β― β "Deadlines β calendar" downloads an.ics file of every open task with a due date (import it into any calendar app). If you use the online (Cloudflare) version, you also get a live subscription URL. In Google Calendar go to Settings β Add calendar β From URL and paste it. Do that in whichever Google account you want the deadlines in (work, personal, or both). Each account you add it to stays automatically up to date.
Pareto π―: ranks open tasks by impact Γ· effort and marks the top 20% with π― on their cards. You can score tasks yourself, but you don't have to: effort falls back to the estimate or to the actual time of similar finished tasks, impact gets a nudge from a close deadline, β Duel asks "which matters more?" a few times and learns a ranking from your answers, and β¨ AI rank scores every open task against the goal you type at the top (a model on Cloudflare, called only when you click, nothing stored). Column menu β β Sort by value reorders a column by the same score. Analytics shows a true Pareto chart of where your tracked hours went.
Members & assignees π₯: add people in β― β Board members (simple name tags, no accounts). Assign them to tasks in the task dialog. Their initials show on cards, and the header dropdown filters by person.
Inviting friends π: switch to the board you want to share, then β― β Board members β Invite links. Type a friend's name and click "Create invite link". They get their own private link (your key is never shared) with access to that board only. Your other boards stay invisible to them, on screen and on the server. Revoke any link at any time. It stops working within seconds without affecting anyone else.
Video calls πΉ: on a live-synced board, click πΉ in the header, then Start call. Everyone else who has the board open gets a ring, a banner with Join / Not now, and a pulsing πΉ button. The π₯ tab shows who is on the board (in call, online, away) with Copy call link: send that link on WhatsApp or email and it opens the board with a Join banner. On a SaaS deploy there is also Email invite for board members. Audio and video travel directly between your browsers (WebRTC), nothing is recorded or stored. Drag the window anywhere, collapse it and keep working on the board together, share your screen with π₯, or double-click a video for full screen. If a connection stays on "connecting" or shows "failed", one of you is behind a strict network: the board owner can add Cloudflare TURN keys (see README).
Chat π¬: every live-synced board has a chat, with or without a call. Paste links, they become clickable. The last 150 messages are kept per board. New messages show as a count on π¬.
Lock screen π: anyone opening the board address without a valid key sees only a lock screen. Nothing loads until a correct key or invite link is used.
Undo: Ctrl+Z steps back through your last 30 changes (per session).
Shortcuts: n new task Β· / search Β· Ctrl+Z undo Β· Esc close dialogs.
